Sure people can argue that the same conservative base would be in arms if the Dems had a similar situation but she's a kid and besides raising questions of her mom's anti-abortion/conservative views it's really anyone's business.

I really hope the Dems stay away from this one because if they go hard on this one it could be the usual Democratic Shoot-themselves-in-the-foot-during-election-they-can-win thing.

Just watched the 200m with Bolt murdering the other record which stood for the last 12 years like it wasn't shit to begin with. Then JA followed it up with another gold in the 400m hurdles which give the country of 2.8 million people a total of 4 gold medals and 3 silver with the 9 million strong sweden sitting on 3 silver total hahahaha.

sidenote: Bolt immediately took off his shoes because I'm assuming that they were melting against the ground due to the fact that shoes weren't made to go that fast.

I know it's been a couple of moons since I blew the dust off of this bastard but I honestly let writing fall out of my schedule for some reason. Fear not the election, convention, olympics etc. are upon us and my Redskins WILL win the super bowl this year (you heard it first here).

I also would like to send a special shout out to that ONE person who continues to check my blog religiously, though not understanding that I know who it is and have for the last year or two :-) It is exceptionally easy to look at my stats when say... you go out of the country (and I know where) then continue to reread my dormant blog. SOOOOO the point of this was simply letting you know that I know so we know there won't be no... issues.

Anyhoo I must get back to sending our resumes and being productive whilst a certain little person isn't trying to eat at my kneecaps.

Nuggets: Pick Up Team or Playoff Team?

Go to any park or playground in any major city in America – from D.C. to Memphis to L.A. – and you will see pickup games with a style and rhythm of basketball unique to the outdoor run.

Or, you can watch the Denver Nuggets.

This team is super-talented and entertaining. However, their resemblance to a team getting a run on the blacktop might let them hold the court for a few hours or get regular season wins, but it won't lead to any success in the NBA playoffs.

In the tough Western Conference, it may even keep them out altogether.

These characteristics of the Nuggets pickup mentality were on full display in their home loss to the Detroit Pistons Monday night, and anyone who has ever hooped at the park could have easily recognized the signs:

Too Much One-on-One Play

No one can argue the individual offensive abilities of Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson. But, their monopolizing of the ball and forays to the basket against one, two or three defenders hurt their team's offensive development – and it will kill them in the playoffs.

The Nuggets have good perimeter three-point shooters in J.R. Smith, Linas Kleiza and Eduardo Najera, but they often find themselves standing all alone watching Iverson and Anthony take on the whole team. Stop the tape at any time at the end of an Iverson or Anthony move, and you will see them surrounded by defenders while shooters are standing all alone.

You see it at the park all the time.

Dependence On "Bail Out" Calls

The Nuggets depend entirely too much on calls by the officials at the end of plays. From Allen Iverson sticking out his legs and hitting the deck or flailing his arms on a drive to Carmelo yelling " OHHHHH!" every time he goes to the basket, Denver relies on the officials to bail them out of many bad or forced shots.

A lot of these calls they get are weak at best; the kind of calls that at the park lead to arguments ("That's a bull---- call") and altercations.

One typical reaction for the pickup defender getting chumped on calls is the universal "take the ball and heave it over the fence" – which has been perfected in cities across the country.

Every playground in America has a guy who bails himself out with weak calls when he misses shots. The Nuggets have a team full of them. These guys would be a nightmare at the park – every game would end in an argument, a fight, or the ball bouncing through the intersection down the block.

If they don't get the call, there is a momentary delay in getting back defensively – even players standing and glaring or arguing the no call. This leads to poor transition defense and last night led to some easy baskets for the Pistons, who don't exactly race down the floor 100 mph.

Anthony, Iverson and Kenyon Martin were all guilty of this last night, and Detroit time and time again got easy scores on the break.

In a pickup game, this happens all the time.

In an NBA game, it is inexcusable. And it leads to an early exit in the playoffs – or a failure to qualify.

Poor Overall Defensive Effort

Defense is first and foremost about effort and hard work. Forget blocked shots and steals – those are the "Sportscenter" moments of defense – which take brief, momentary effort. Good athletes can get these in their sleep. These plays are usually the result of "early" or "late" defense – going for a steal on the first or second pass, or reacting late and getting a blocked shot at the rim.

Stand outside the fence of any pickup game with good athletes, and you will see plenty of these.

Good, consistent team defense requires constant effort and communication on every play – which means running the floor, picking up men early and helping teammates.

Pickup 5-on-5 tends to become a lot of 3-on-2, 4-on-3, and 5-on-4. Every team seems to have a guy or two who just doesn't seem to have much interest in getting back. Either that guy is out of shape, doesn't care, or well…maybe a little bit of something else. These are the same guys who all of a sudden "come alive" on the offensive end.

When arguably the most athletic starting five in the NBA – which means on the planet – is consistently beaten down the floor by speedsters like Rasheed Wallace and Antonio McDyess, your team is in trouble.

Inability To Defend Key Situations

Check out the local five-man outdoor run or game at the rec, and there's also not a whole lot of team defensive rotation or communication on key possession or in certain offensive situations.

There is always increased effort on "game point" or "point game" (depending on your city of origin), but usually the execution isn't there from the local pick up squad.

Ditto for the NBA's Denver Nuggets last night.

In Detroit's halfcourt sets, the Nuggets got picked, rubbed off and lost on possession after possession.

Whether is was Wallace or McDyess catching at the elbow and reading cutters and screeners, or on screen/rolls for Chauncey Billups, Detroit got whatever they wanted. Only a poor shooting night kept them from winning by double digits.

In defending screens on and off the ball, sometimes Denver switched, sometimes they sort of switched, sometimes they thought they were switching but both defenders went with the same guy, and sometimes they just didn't do anything.

Switching defensively takes the least effort, and Denver does that a lot on screening situations. Guess what most guys do at the park in those same situations?

But, it creates horrible mismatches in the NBA good offensive teams just destroy.

On double-teams and rotations, Denver usually had three or four guys who did, and one or two guys who didn't – leading to easy jump shots and lay-ups for Detroit all night.

This was especially true at the end of the game when team defense wins and loses games.

With under three minutes to play and the Pistons up 88-85, Chauncey Billups and Antonio McDyess worked a ballscreen on the left side. J.R. Smith and Marcus Camby failed to communicate, both stayed in no man's land – not really guarding either guy - and Billups rifled a pass to McDyess for the baseline jumper to put the Pistons up five.

On the next possession, Billups came off a high ballscreen, the Nuggets let him turn the corner and Camby switched onto him. Billups ate him up with a snap-back three putting Detroit up seven.

Switch your center onto an All-Star point guard and that's usually what you get. Good defensive teams hedge, force and recover. Bad defensive teams switch and hope.

Denver has as much talent as anyone in the NBA. They could be one of the top teams in the league at both ends of the floor. They could beat any team in the league in a seven-game series.

They would never lose at the park.

That kind of talent will get them lots of wins in the regular season, but as long as they play more like a pickup team and less like a playoff team, they will be much more feared at playgrounds across America than in arenas around the NBA.

If Hillary Clinton wanted a graceful exit, she'd drop out now— before the March 4 Texas and Ohio primaries—and endorse Barack Obama. This would be terrible for people like me who have been dreaming of a brokered convention for decades. For selfish reasons, I want the story to stay compelling for as long as possible, which means I'm hoping for a battle into June for every last delegate and a bloody floor fight in late August in Denver. But to withdraw this week would be the best thing imaginable for Hillary's political career. She won't, of course, and for reasons that help explain why she's in so much trouble in the first place.

Withdrawing would be stupid if Hillary had a reasonable chance to win the nomination, but she doesn't. To win, she would have to do more than reverse the tide in Texas and Ohio, where polls show Obama already even or closing fast. She would have to hold off his surge, then establish her own powerful momentum within three or four days. Without a victory of 20 points or more in both states, the delegate math is forbidding. In Pennsylvania, which votes on April 22, the Clinton campaign did not even file full delegate slates. That's how sure they were of putting Obama away on Super Tuesday.

The much-ballyhooed race for superdelegates is now nearly irrelevant. Some will be needed in Denver to put Obama over the top, just as Walter Mondale had to round up a couple dozen in 1984. But these party leaders won't determine the result. At the Austin, Texas, debate last week, Hillary agreed that the process would "sort itself out" so that the will of the people would not be reversed by superdelegates. Even if you include Michigan (where Obama's name wasn't on the ballot) and Florida, Obama has a lead of 925,000 in the popular vote. Closing that gap would require Hillary to win all the remaining contests by crushing margins. Any takers on her chances of doing so in, say, Mississippi and North Carolina, where African-Americans play a big role?

The pundit class hasn't been quicker to point all this out because of what happened in New Hampshire. A lot of us looked foolish by all but writing Hillary off when she lost the Iowa caucuses. As we should have known, stuff happens in politics. But that was early. The stuff that would have to happen now would be on a different order of magnitude. It's time to stop overlearning the lesson of New Hampshire.

Hillary has only one shot—for Obama to trip up so badly that he disqualifies himself. Nothing in the last 14 months suggests he will. He has made plenty of small mistakes, but we're past the point where a "likable enough" comment will turn the tide. When Obama bragged in the Austin debate about how "good" his speeches were, the boast barely registered. He has brought up his game so sharply that even a head cold and losing the health-care portion of the debate on points did nothing to derail him. Hillary's Hail Mary pass—that Obama is a plagiarist—was incomplete.

So if the Clintonites were assessing with a cold eye, they would know that the odds of Hillary's looking bad on March 4 are high. Even Bill Clinton said last week that Texas and Ohio are must-win states. If she wants to stay in anyway, one way to go is to play through to June so as to give as many people as possible a chance to express their support. While this would be contrary to the long-stated wish of many Democrats (including the Clintons) to avoid a long, divisive primary season, it's perfectly defensible.

But imagine if, instead of waiting to be marginalized or forced out, Hillary decided to defy the stereotype we have of her family? Imagine if she drew a distinction between "never quit" as it applies to fighting Kenneth Starr and the Republicans on the one hand, and fellow Democrats on the other? Imagine if she had, well, the imagination for a breathtaking act of political theater that would make her seem the epitome of grace and class and party unity, setting herself up perfectly for 2012 if Obama loses?

The conventional view is that the Clintons approach power the way hard-core gun owners approach a weapon—they'll give it up only when it's wrenched from their cold, dead fingers. When I floated this idea of her quitting, Hillary aides scoffed that it would never happen. Their Pollyanna-ish assessment of the race offered a glimpse inside the bunker. These are the same loyalists who told Hillary that she was inevitable, that experience was a winning theme, that going negative in a nice state like Iowa would work, that all Super Tuesday caucus states could be written off. The Hillary who swallowed all that will never withdraw.

But in her beautiful closing answer in the Austin debate, I glimpsed a different, more genuine, almost valedictory Hillary Clinton. She talked about the real suffering of Americans and, echoing John Edwards, said, "Whatever happens, we'll be fine." She described what "an honor" it was to be in a campaign with Barack Obama, and seemed to mean it. The choice before her is to go down ugly with a serious risk of humiliation at the polls, or to go down classy, with a real chance of redemption. Why not the latter? Besides, it would wreck the spring of all her critics in the press. If she thinks of it that way, maybe it's not such an outlandish idea after all.

Poor Hillary here she was approaching the White House from a in-january-when-i-sit-in-the-oval-office standpoint and along comes the man of steel and throws multiple wrenches into that belief. I have to admit that I'd rather disappointed with her 'I'm prepared and he's fluff' spiel as of late. She's had that since day one and not only is it not true (he's had a longer time in public office) but it doesn't work and I held the Clinton machine to a higher standard then that. She's now backed in a corner in which her only way to get even within smelling distance of the nomination is to pull off blowouts in Ohio, Texas AND Pennsylvania -- which is not going to happen. If I where here I'd consider asking for the VP nod from President Obama. It's going to be interesting to see what the Republican's hit him with though.

I'm looking for a job in a forcefully focused manner at this time. Quickie 7 month(!!!) wrap up?

- I became a daddy to a beautiful little girl named Zora in Oct. Zora is a super genius and is getting ready to start school at Yale in the fall. Z's hobbies include poo-ing and eating.

- I have fallen off the wagon and hopped back on constant CNN watching, and CNN International at that. CNN international plays the same shit over and over again but I somehow find it relaxing though rarely informative.

- Google Reader and I have a love/hate relationship. I love it for keeping all the stuff I read there for me to know when it's updated but I've become obsessed with getting through the 1000s of things I have to read on it.

- I got an iPhone the day we went to the hospital and it helped us in the delivery, it also has baby sat and many other useful things, which is why my heart dropped last Sunday when it dropped like a foot and the face cracked :-( It's unlocked because they haven't released it here in Sweden and after talking to the Apple Store they would charge $249 for me to replace it but it would be updated to the latest firmware (which isn't cracked.) Soooo I'm walking around moaning to myself in low discreet and manly tones.

okay moving along, i'm going to be a dad! yep, me... a dad.. someone's daddy... sounds strange i know but 'tis still true and when is the due date you ask me? October 26, 2007. Yep it's sorta around-the-corner-yet-still-annoyingly-far-away but i'm enjoying the quietness for now.

i've racked up a lot of miles since my last post (been to home for a month, London etc.) Also i've been working hard at my top secret job -- of which i'm on the second week of a month vacation. i'll stand up admit that i, l, am an addict to my beautiful 4th xbox which i light candles too and do a finger crunching dance to regularly. oh! i got to see my nephew, after a few years, and am STLL the cool uncle! yay! never know with 13 year old's, 'specially in this day and age. i even let him beat me at fifa... notice the word "let" which should have a disclaimer after it but i'm not really going to do that.

wifey is fine and her stomach is rather large now. i have even coerced the little mini me into responding to my voice on specific commands, obviously the kid knows who's in charge already.

i still like babies and who can hold a grudge against any kid that still wears a built in toilet system but the ones that know better? not a fan. 'specially now. winter showed up rather late and put a nice layer of snow down which is relaxing to offset the sun's winter heroin addiction. well, when i'm in between Gears of War online matches I'll grab a smoke on the balcony. the snow that i see from the balcony has been well preserved and it looks like a perfectly iced cake (something i find relaxing and appreciate). today i headed out to gaze intently on my two week obsession when what do you know? some kids, ran though the snow messing that perfect area up. hence my dislike. i keep checking my weather widget to see when it's going to snow again in hopes that it's enough to cover up those little bastards footprints....

last night stopped over a friend of mine's house to check out his 42 inch plasma tv with the 360 hooked up to it... uh.. it kinda fucked it up for me once i got home and angrily stared at my tv. of course without a job the concept of actually getting one isn't even an ideal i can throw around BUT i am allowed to be damn irritated.

it was soooo, beautiful and it had these lights in the back (that I originally though were just there like 80's electronics stuff), these light light up depending on what's going on on the screen and it's perfection.

In other news the fact that there is no Thanksgiving seems to put Swedes & Americans at a lost.... why in the fuck would swedes celebrate thanksgiving here? why would swedes wonder when 'their' thanksgiving is? as i've stated before, repeatedly, i DO NOT celebrate it in the historical context but in the family, food, beer and football manner -- making it my all time second favorite holiday AFTER my birthday (which hopefully will go into world wide recognition by next year).

While keeping abreast of the PS3 and Wii release this weekend, hey it's interesting and the PS3 won't be here till March (bastards). I came across a story about the first guy in line for the Wii in New York's Time Square who legally changed his name to Triforce. In the article the mentioned that he's 29 years old and I immediately pictures a white dude who lived with his mom (i'm saying where in the flying hell would a grown as man have freed money and time to pull off standing in line for a week to buy video games?) I also assumed, as most would, that the closest thing to sex he ever had was that banned part in GTA. I was wrong. Very wrong. Dude is black, married (lives in my beloved Harlem no less)and has traveled the globe playing video games. He has a gamer's collective called the Empire of Arcadia which in considered one of the best in the world AND MTV did a mini documentary on him and his collective.... Besides legally changing his name to Triforce (sorry but that's an L) I actually respect dude and apologize cyber-ly to him being the butt of my monday morning jokes along with THIS guy.

my parents died on the 15th of November 1981 as a result of a car accident in which my brother and I were in. I wasn't hurt bad but my little brother, David, died from his injuries on the 25th of November. I was six. Instead of tell the whole drawn out story about how I never cried (because there was no one to cry to, at least that's the way I saw it at the time). I simply want to remember them... it gets harder and harder all the time. I remember when I felt this cold feeling when I realized that I couldn't remember my mom's voice anymore or my brother's. Contrary to popular belief I'm actually not as depressed as one would think about it, it's something that I've existed with all of my life so it's really not that strange but there are backlashes to it that pop up from time to time. I won't have them there for anything in my life from marriage to having a child. My future children won't have grandparents. I don't really have anyone to call and release to, in a real sense of the word, I kinda never let down my guard because of that. On the other hand I'll never have to worry about my parents growing old, having medical problems and eventually dying. The 15th of November is also the birthday of my 'little sister' Carla who was killed along with my best friend in 1999. I used to always tell her how much I hated her birthday... now I really do. I can remember her well though and it's easier to place pieces of her in my memory banks to save because I know what you forget. Anyway, I'm sitting here at work remembering them... like i said, i'm not depressed simply refusing to forget...

i've been watching mad documentaries lately: Unforgivable Blackness (the Jack Johnson story), Mark Twain and the Civil War -- kinda on a Ken Burn's thingy lately and all the happier about it. between you and i, i'm beginning to think that wifey isn't as happy about having to sit though some of these (being that english isn't her first language and all and europeans lack context of any sort in these matters). we also watched the Their Eyes are Watching God in which they sucessfully ruined my all time favorite book... eff it i dont' even want to talk about it.

had a bad dream and woke the hell up after 3 hours of sleep, very rare for me (dreams most would consider bad aren't even an issue to me). So I'm wide awake and click on tailrank to see a post about Flock the new Mozilla based browsers (like firefox). i downloaded an alpha version a while a go but it didn't have import features and fell off quickly, though it seemed a little faster than firefox, so FF won again. This time everything and then more was there -- like the fact that i'm doing this blog via flock instead of having to sign into blogger. anyhoo, the suggestion is to try it out and see what you think about it. At least i can update my blog more with this.

Other quick news items -- besides being in looooove with arielle (who is now a month old) it looks like i might have a decent job (which i find out tomorrow). i went to london for an extended weekend and fell in love. next stop paris or amsterdamn and i have a nice little list to work on. maybe i'm tired now, more to come. hopefully tomorrow brings great news, please. did i mention my RE:Love with my PSP?

you know how people wonder about how it is to have the sun pop up at abnormally early times? well sweden 'blessed' me with not having to wonder because that bamma pops up at abnormally early times which results in me waking up at painfully early times with no chance of returning to la la land. irritating.

fell asleep on the couch, again, but went to peek in on wifey -- i happen to enjoy watching her sleep she's so quiet... :-D anyhoo, peeked in and noticed that she's sleeping sideways in the bed. this is a problem for your truly since she has seemed to enjoy trespassing on my side of the bed since we got a new bed. this bed's predecessor was a small bed not made for a non vertically challenged man. i would get leg cramps on the ex-bed because i couldn't stretch out, not to mention it had some crap at the end so i couldn't even let my feet go over the edge. soooo, we buy a new bed only for wifey to decide that sleeping up and down wasn't for her and that sidways motion was were it's at. now when i'm in the bed i feel her *adjusting* herself until she's damn near kicking me off the bed. i'm thinking she's reliving her soccer glory days, but that's just me. this is not a good thing i've been considering an electric fence between us to correct this malfunction. we'll see.

my pistons lost last night to the bucks. we were nice enough to allow them a playoff win so they should be thankful.

my last hour in my 30th year. i've decided that from here on out i'll simply say '30+' cause i'm not feeling the 31. in fact, i'm pretty upset that for the first time in my life i'm not über amped about my birthday... oh well.

wifey's parents and nephew were here for east (since thursday to be exact) and left today. i swear her dad works more when he's here then at work and since he's not the "delegate" type person he ends up doing most of the work while he's here. now one could say that i'm the man of the apartment and all but i'm man enough to let another man do the job if he can do a better job. he built his whole house so i feel right to assume that he's the equivalent of a surgeon in these matters. regardless the balcony got a new floor, the bathroom a new light (i actually did a hefty amount on that one, which i'm rather proud of), the kitchen tiles were worked on etc. dude killed it. the nephew, as always, was the truth -- though he could work on him peeing aim game more than a little because a man should not have to use a whole bottle of ajax spray cleaner in a weekend. just saying.

oh, i'm pleasantly surprised with fishscale at the moment.

they just released a patch so that windows can run on intel based macs. personally i don't have a problem with them running the obviously inferior windows OS but the problem i have is that it seems like it's supposed to be a selling point for people to buy macs. my personal assessment is that if you don't get it you just don't get it. apple is a business and improving on the bottom line is fine but why not try and strong arm the comp by taking some of their market share away by offering what they can't. eh, but that's just me and my opinion.

nothing much going on here at the ldef office folks i'm hoping that today the true signs of spring can kick in and make my life a little warmer. my latest addictions have been daxter for psp which i'm entitled to state is the best game i've played on the psp. my other addiction(s) has been obsessively reorganizing my computer (my new desktop picture above) and playing the godfather (c) title. i've been approaching looking for a job in a more 'direct' way by calling up companies and telling the point blank that they need to hire me, i'll let you know how that comes out.

this weekend i finally saw last year's docu oscar winner and was blown away, or should i say that something blew into my eyes along the way. those kids were some of the most photogenic kids i've ever seen and the way that they pulled you into the store was amazing. it's scary to know that there are kids, right now, living with so little options. *sigh*

yesterday was apple's "big" announcement and if you've been a trusty reader of this here blahg then you'd know of the ldef's staff's full appreciate and ~~cult like worship~~ well yesterday they didn't really amaze many. they announced that there is a new intel based mac mini but it lacks a tv in (which allows you to record) and the price went up. that kills off the hope that the intel move would lower prices on mac machines and removes me from one who's going to spring for a mini to replace everything but the tv at the ldef headquarters... they also announcement an ipod hi fi ($349) which had me hit the snooze button not to mention a $99 leather ipod case i.e. fuck that. i my honest opinion they used up some of their wow capital in that boring announcement yesterday though i'd put money on 'BIG' changes for their april fools day 30th anniversary changes. i would like to see a full screen video ipod and cheaper intel based ibook.

today is vday in the ldef head office and i've sprung the high, high price of $2.95 for CNN's Pipeline. since we don't have CNN here i thought that it would be a helpful thing to be able to see live broadcasting and i'm quite happy about this choice. 'specially since menace to society dick cheney of the white house crips blastfest is a very great source of live feeds. they just announced that the 78 multimillionaire lawyer that got blasted had a heart attack... one of the doctors said that 'heart attack' is a 'lay man' term and this was what's called a soft heart attack" hammy. Dude even got irritated stating that he was smarter than everyone there and obviously couldn't handle the pressure of having the press ask him or his associate questions which annoy his smartnesstivity.

and a few moments ago i stumbled across this sony announcement that they were discontinuing those little robotic dogs called AIBO. The article mentioned that there were forums for AIBO owners and being a psp owner myself i just clicked on it to see what they were talking about there.... well *cough* i'm not judging but it's a rather interesting way of looking at a robot dog when you use adjectives like "LOVE" and everyone's signature has the names (full sometimes) of there little robotic dogs. check it out here.

happy 2006, christmas etc. i'm up at early, again wondering why the hell my body feels the need to place it's awake version above sleep mode at 5 am the last few mornings. since i've fallen off, yet again, i feel duty calls for a quickie wrap up.

went to nyc. it was cold, very cold. jet lag made me consider the good points of suicide and taxi rides (when you can effin' get one). chilled with will and introduced niklas to nyc. the concert was a sucess, both of them. missed the wifey and had horrible internet connectivity -- which sucks since one of my duties was to write a nyc blog for desofo (www.desofo.com) but that was more than far fetched since i got to know my yahoo mobile mail to respond to the emails that i could get. on the way back tried to switch plane tickets with someone who came with us. it was pretty simple I flew to Copenhagen then to Newark on the way up because i went to coworkers. on the way back i wanted to fly to stockholm instead of wasting 3 hours before getting to stockholm since that evening i was flying up to wifey's parents and jet lag needs to be treated like an adult. well tried with every branch of SAS and 5 mins before takeoff they gave said that they couldn't switch tickets but they'd bump me up to business class. no descriptions but intercontinental travel and i no longer look at each other the same.

flew up to wifey's the same day and worked off jet lag in the timewarp room that we stay in. christmas was eh and we left the next day for a bus *gag* trip back home to stockholm. cramped and it smelled like feet with all the fresh snow on the ground making it worse. got home and woke up to THE FLU for which i had the whole next week that i got here (thus blanking me out for a month). i'm still coughing, coughed right through new years btw but feel much better now thank you.

oh, we went and saw Narnia on thursday night and let's just say that they took appealing to the christian audience a little to seriously. it came off claustrophobic and unevenly paced whereas it should have been epic and flowing. the christian factor had it so halmark-y.

now to figure out why the hell i keep waking up so damn early.

Jet lag is a b-i, seriously because 8 pm feels like 3 am etc. it's killing me though i'm tiredly happy that I'm in the greatest city period. mental note though, my swedish train pass may not quite work on the new york system (learned that today btw). i'm too sleepy to stick to a semi-coherent stee here but thought i'd lace my love cyberly for my NYC.

I don't know if it was the 6 plus hours standing in line for the PASV with 'unique' people or the fact that Chris and I had to gulp geek juice to understand the geek speak while trying to figure out our PASV (doing quite well I might add, thanks Chris) or if the sudden need to cyber share my thoughts via this nice bloc or everything together. Regardless of the reason I've dusted off my firebug and started using RSI feeds more seriously in the last 24 hours and catching up with everything that I stopped paying attention to. Regardless here are some of the great things that I've figured out.

- firebug is releasing it's new version today (1.5) though it might not support all of your plug-ins, right now.

- PASV has a new firmware release that no one is rushing to get, though it has cool as features on it like RSI feeds. After hearing about their feature that allows you to get TV to your PASV I might end up taking the plunge soon because the concept of my us stations sounds quite nice to me.

finally! on my way back home to the beautifulness that is harlem in all it's grandeur. from the west indian spot with it's healthy proportions and loooong list of west indian 'remedy' drinks which claim to cure everything from hangovers to cancer. to the cats that hold down blocks harder than you'd hold down a job -- i'm saying dudes are at their locked spots at 5 in the morning till -- i can't friggin wait. minus the fact that i will be wifey-less throughout this experience.

lately things have been more than hectic, to say the least, and i've been in between inspired and burned out (which honestly would work better if a side were chosen), but still pushing through. in celebration for thanksgiving i went to an american spot and watched the game while 'diss-cussing' the "FACT" that swedish isn't a race. long story but eh. following that enlightening experience i got home at twelve and decided to do one of the nerdiest things of all time and head to a store opening which promised 50 PSP's for a third of the regular price. stood outside so long that my legs hurt for 24 hours after it but walked away with my brand new psp, mentioned below, and have been trying to figure this ish out since. it has a lot of possibilities but quite annoying (at times) to deal with since i've grown used to the simplicity of macs.

other things... oh, i've been neglecting my blog since it hasn't truly fit into the timeframe of my other-ness though those thoughts of 'i've got to put this on my blog' are starting to reenter my head. wifey is doing fine, though scarily influenced by the upcoming procreation product of our friends (due april) and talking more baby talk than i'd like to deal with. eh. i'll be okay. welp, i'll be keeping the blog-ism up as of now and will try and update it with my new york trip. not looking forward to the flight but i will kiss the ground, and random people, once there.

i've got to get my hands on the cee-lo joint and am rocking the ghost face quite hard right now, on the music side. co flow was dusted off and has had me feeling hoodie-headphones-walkman lately.

saw this video of the 'new' Biggie song with Bob Marley and it's the worst rehash of a song ever. How did they think that 'Suicidal Thoughts' would work in this fashion? they obviously didn't friggin listen to the song.
